The Role
Join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as a Health Care Support Worker and play a vital role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care within our Obstetrics and Gynaecology service. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure patients receive the highest standards of care throughout their healthcare journey. Skilled Worker visa and Health and Care Worker visa
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Full-time and part-time available, permanent
- You will be based at The Princess Royal Maternity Unit
- Working Pattern: TBC
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality personal care with dignity, compassion and respect under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife
- Support patients with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, feeding, mobility and repositioning
- Observe, monitor and promptly report changes in a patient's physical or emotional wellbeing to the clinical team
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to effective communication within the multidisciplinary team
- Help maintain a safe, clean and organised clinical environment, including stock control and housekeeping duties
- Use equipment safely and follow all NHSGGC policies, procedures and infection prevention standards
- Build positive relationships with patients, relatives and colleagues to support an excellent care experience
- SVQ Level 2 qualification in a relevant area or equivalent experience gained through training and practical experience
- Experience in a caring environment or a strong commitment to providing high quality patient care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team within a busy clinical setting
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact sensitively with patients and families
- Strong observation skills and the ability to recognise and report concerns appropriately
- Commitment to completing mandatory training and ongoing personal and professional development
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, relevant policies, procedures, health and safety requirements and infection prevention measures
