Health Care Support Worker - Mental Health Inpatient Services

The Role

As a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker, you will join the Acute Admission Unit (AAU) at Langhill Clinic, a 20-bedded inpatient ward providing care for adults experiencing acute mental health conditions. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will deliver compassionate, person-centred care using a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach. You will contribute to the assessment, care and support of patients, working in partnership with individuals, their carers and other professionals to promote recovery, wellbeing and positive outcomes.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Key Responsibilities

You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care and support for patients receiving treatment within the inpatient mental health service. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will implement agreed plans of care using a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach that actively involves patients in their care.

You will work collaboratively with patients, carers and partner agencies to promote independence, recovery and wellbeing, undertaking delegated duties with minimal supervision while adhering to legislative requirements, professional standards and local clinical policies. You will also participate in regular line management and clinical supervision to support your ongoing development and maintain safe, effective practice

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Previous experience caring for individuals with mental health conditions is essential.
• A compassionate and person-centred approach to delivering care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Understanding of strengths-based, recovery-focused approaches to mental health care.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, carers and colleagues.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, clinical policies and professional standards relating to mental health care.
• Educated to SVQ Level 3/SCQF Level 6 or actively working towards this qualification is desirable.
• Willingness to participate in regular line management and clinical supervision.
