Reporting to the Board, this is a high-impact role for an ambitious Head of Trading or senior hands-on trader seeking progression towards board-level responsibility. Our client is a privately owned international trading group with turnover exceeding US $1 billion, operating across fisheries, aquaculture, agriculture, frozen proteins and emerging dry commodities. With offices in the UK, China and Spain, and ambitious plans for further international expansion, they are now seeking a commercially driven Head of Trading to help lead the next stage of global growth.
Candidate Profile
- A proven trader with direct experience in proteins and non-hedgeable commodities, ideally including frozen food, seafood, meat, poultry, pork, agriculture or comparable global markets.
- This is not a purely strategic or desk-based leadership role; it requires someone who can trade, negotiate, read markets, manage margin exposure and make confident commercial decisions in environments where risk cannot simply be hedged away.
- Commercially sharp, relationship-led, confident with P&L and margin delivery, and able to lead experienced traders with credibility.
- This may suit a current Head of Trading, Senior Trader or trading-led commercial leader who is ready to broaden their global impact, take on greater strategic influence and progress towards board-level responsibility.
This is a rare opportunity to join a substantial, values-led international trading group with an excellent reputation for quality, reliability and integrity.
