Company Description: Strictly Fresh delivers fresh fruit and vegetables from the market directly to customers’ doors the next day, offering wholesale-level pricing instead of typical supermarket margins. The company draws on 15 years of experience supplying London’s restaurants daily from local markets. After seeing nearby residents pay significantly higher prices for older produce, Strictly Fresh set out to close this gap. The business is focused on delivering fresher products, more value, and a more transparent food supply experience. Team members join a company committed to improving access to quality produce across the London area.
Role Description: The Head of Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This role oversees daily operational activities, including market sourcing, inventory control, order fulfillment, and last-mile delivery to ensure timely, high-quality service. The Head of Operations will design and refine processes, manage budgets, track performance metrics, and implement improvements that support sustainable growth and operational efficiency. This position leads and develops operations teams, coordinates with suppliers and logistics partners, and works closely with senior leadership to align operations with business strategy. The role also involves risk management, compliance with safety and quality standards, and the adoption of tools and technologies that streamline operations.
Qualifications
- Strong operations management capabilities, including process optimization and supply chain oversight.
- Analytical skills to interpret data, monitor KPIs, and make informed, evidence-based decisions.
- Proven experience in team management, including coaching, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.
- Budgeting skills to manage operational costs, forecast expenses, and support financial planning.
- Experience in food distribution, logistics, or FMCG operations is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in the London Area, with hands-on engagement in daily operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Competence with operations software, inventory systems, and basic productivity tools.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive continuous improvement.
