As Head of Operational Trading within Global Energy Management, you'll lead the team responsible for optimising the short-term route to market for ScottishPower Renewables generation and Customer Business demand. This is a highly influential leadership role that sits at the heart of the UK's evolving energy system, helping to maximise the value of renewable generation while supporting energy security and the transition to Net Zero.
You'll also play a key role in developing balancing and ancillary services opportunities, managing critical relationships with the National Energy System Operator and influencing regulatory developments that impact both the business and the wider energy market. What You'll Be Doing
You'll lead all aspects of Operational Trading activities, ensuring ScottishPower's renewable generation and customer demand portfolios are effectively positioned within short-term electricity markets. You'll identify and develop new revenue streams within balancing and ancillary services markets, helping to strengthen the commercial case for future renewable and flexible energy assets while delivering significant value across the portfolio.
You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders (globally) to develop commercial opportunities, negotiate complex balancing services arrangements and influence market developments. And you'll provide strategic leadership to the Operational Trading team, driving performance, developing capability and delivering management reporting and insights that support decision-making at senior leadership level.

We're looking for a commercially minded leader with significant experience managing high-performing teams and delivering ambitious business objectives within a competitive environment.
As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we will double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
