Role Description This is a contract, on-site Gym Team role based at our Braintree location. Team members support a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment by greeting members, answering queries, and providing information about equipment, classes, and membership options. Daily responsibilities include maintaining gym cleanliness and presentation, monitoring the gym floor for safe use of equipment, and following health and safety procedures. The role also involves assisting with basic administrative tasks, supporting induction sessions, and promoting member engagement through excellent customer service. Gym Team members may help with local marketing activities, events, and promotions to enhance the member experience and support the growth of the Braintree site.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively and professionally with a diverse member base.
• Knowledge of basic fitness principles, safe use of gym equipment, and a genuine interest in health and wellbeing.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, follow health and safety procedures, and respond appropriately to incidents or member concerns.
• Organizational skills for handling routine administrative tasks, bookings, and member queries efficiently.
• Team-oriented mindset, reliability, and flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
• Previous experience in gyms, leisure, hospitality, or retail environments is beneficial but not essential.
• Relevant fitness qualifications (e.g., Level 2 Gym Instructor) are an advantage and may support future progression into coaching or PT roles.
