The role of the Finance Analyst sits within the ScottishPower Transmission (SPT) Performance & Reporting (P&R) department reporting to the Senior Finance Analyst. They are primarily responsible for duties that follow SP governance, policies and procedures to support the accuracy of SPT’s project financials and overall budget management.
The role is multi-faceted depending on capacity and demand needs of the overall Financial Operations team, either supporting capex management or financial regulatory matters. The Finance Analyst will be working in conjunction with multiple multi-disciplined PMO teams and SPT departments to serve as a key interface to support SPT Financials.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Liaise with contacts across the business to provide information for the monthly Commercial Report, which is the key governance tool for the monthly SPT Management meeting
- Review and develop the Monthly Scorecards for the business, ensuring these are prepared timeously and in line with business deadlines
- Maintain strong controls, ensuring all processes and procedures are in line with Group policies and that documentation is kept up to date
- Support the project delivery portfolio teams with the monthly actuals process and information, supporting any variances
- Manage any outstanding GRNs and Invoices with the project delivery portfolio by reviewing, producing reporting and engaging with project teams to progress
- Perform project commitments analysis against actuals and resolve any issues.
- Support accruals analysis across the project portfolios expected contract profile spends to ensure accuracy of information through data analysis and interrogation
- Provide key monthly timetable dates to support overall monthly financial governance for Control
- Support and provide governance for project delivery portfolio teams to adhere to business procedures and processes by assessing project status in line with these procedures
- Financial qualification, degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in a financial support role
- Significant experience of Excel
- Working knowledge of financial & commercial policies, procedures and working practices
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Experience of building and maintaining strong inter-departmental and external working relationships
- Effective organisational and analytical skills
- Experience of working with large volumes of data in a reporting environment
- Commercially aware, self-motivated individual
- Ability to garner an extensive knowledge of the SPT Licence and interpret this in the best interests of the organisation
- Financial qualification, degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in a financial support role
- Significant experience of Excel
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills at all levels
