Company Description

Anton Paar Ltd, a leader in laboratory instrumentation and services, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our successful and highly motivated team.
Ideally based within 1 hour of Luton, you will deliver expert maintenance, calibration, and repair services to a varied customer base across the home counties and London with a bias toward the North of the region (Oxford, Milton Keynes, Cambridge).
This is a varied and dynamic role working across multiple industries and supporting a broad portfolio of highly advanced analytical technologies.

Job Description

  • Plan and perform preventative maintenance and calibration activities in line with Anton Paar Corporate Service Standards, completing all required documentation accurately.
  • Diagnose and execute instrument repairs at customer sites (or in-house where required), providing detailed service reports.
  • Deliver remote technical support via telephone and online channels to customers and colleagues.
  • Collaborate flexibly with the wider service team to support large, multi-instrument contracts, including travel and occasional overnight stays.
  • Maintain car stock to KPI standards, ensuring efficient replenishment and maximising first-time fix rates.
  • Keep all tooling and test equipment in full working and calibrated condition.
  • Identify and generate sales leads for instruments and service opportunities during service visits.
  • Accurately record service activities, communications, and parts usage within the CRM system.

Qualifications

  • HNC (or higher) in an Engineering discipline – Electronics preferred.
  • Proven field service experience working on complex analytical instrumentation at customer sites.
  • Experience with systems utilising compressed gases, and potentially hazardous substances.
  • Ability to interpret scientific/analytical data and resolve technical customer queries. 
  • Competence using standard electronic test equipment.
  • Strong organisational skills with clear written and verbal communication abilities.
  • IT literate, ideally with experience using CRM systems; proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and willing to travel with occasional overnight stays.
  • Full, clean UK driving license.
