Job Overview

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and hardworking individual to join our Facilities Auditing and Monitoring Team. The successful candidate will be motivated, forward-thinking and innovative, with a passion for maintaining high standards and driving continuous service improvement.

This is a demanding but rewarding role that requires a proactive approach, excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently whilst supporting multidisciplinary teams across the Health Board. Applicants must have relevant supervisory or team-leading experience and possess a relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3 in Cleaning Services, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience. Experience in auditing, quality monitoring and compliance activities is essential.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across the Soft Facilities Department to meet service demands and priorities and must be able to travel between sites in a timely manner. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about quality assurance, has a keen eye for detail and is committed to delivering safe, effective and high-quality facilities services for patients, staff and visitors.

Main duties of the job

Working under the operational guidance and direction of the site-based Facilities Management team, the post holder will audit services and

quality monitor service provision.

This will be in line with the Health Board’s Facilities standards systems, processes and documentation that reflect national and local initiatives, e.g. auditing programme, National Standards for Cleaning in NHS Wales (NSfC), other relevant Health Care Standards and Health Board Policies e.g. Environmental Cleaning Policy and any other associated legislation, which underpin the delivery of effective and efficient Facilities Services across the Health Board.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.

We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.

We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

Our services are provided in:

  • Four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest
  • Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
  • Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
  • 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 99 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
  • Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
