Enterprise Data Architect – Contract
Contract: 4–5 months
Location: Remote, UK
Rate: £700 per day
We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to lead the architecture and design of a new on-premise Data Warehouse.
The immediate focus is on building a robust, scalable and well-governed data platform, while ensuring the architecture and standards put in place today support a future move to the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the architecture for a new on-premise Data Warehouse.
- Establish the overall data architecture framework, standards and design principles.
- Define best practice around data modelling, integration, security and data quality.
- Put appropriate data governance, ownership and controls in place.
- Work with technical and business teams to understand data requirements.
- Ensure the Data Warehouse supports reporting, analytics and wider organisational needs.
- Define integration standards for source systems feeding into the platform.
- Assess business and technical readiness for future data transformation.
- Create an architectural roadmap that supports a future move to cloud-based data platforms.
- Produce clear architecture documentation, standards and governance frameworks.
Experience Required
- Strong experience as an Enterprise Data Architect / Data Architect.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise Data Warehouse environments.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data modelling and integration architecture.
- Experience establishing architecture standards, frameworks and governance.
- Strong understanding of on-premise enterprise data environments.
- Good understanding of cloud data architecture and future migration considerations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to explain technical architecture in straightforward business terms.
Initial Focus
The priority is to design and establish the on-premise Data Warehouse, alongside the standards, governance and best-practice framework needed to support it.
