The Team
The Knowledge Exchange Office enables York St John University to connect its expertise with businesses, entrepreneurs, public sector organisations and communities. Through a broad portfolio including CPD, Executive Education, Apprenticeships, consultancy, contract research and enterprise support, we help create opportunities for innovation, business growth and social impact. The Enterprise Centre forms a key part of this ecosystem, providing a vibrant environment where start-ups, social enterprises and growing businesses can access support, build networks and connect with the University's expertise.
The Role
We're looking for a proactive and people-focused manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our Enterprise Centre at Kings Manor. You'll be the friendly face of the Centre, building relationships with tenants, supporting a thriving business community, coordinating events, and ensuring the space runs smoothly and professionally every day.
As the Centre grows, you'll help shape its future development by increasing engagement, attracting new tenants, strengthening partnerships, and creating opportunities for businesses to connect with the University's expertise, students and wider enterprise ecosystem.
Working within the Knowledge Exchange Office, you'll manage an Enterprise Centre Coordinator/Graduate Intern and collaborate with colleagues across the University, as well as businesses, entrepreneurs and community partners, to maximise the Centre's impact and success.
Required Skills And Experience
The ideal candidate will be a natural relationship-builder who enjoys working with people and making things happen. You'll bring experience of managing a busy customer-facing environment, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the confidence to solve problems and juggle competing priorities. Most importantly, you'll be passionate about supporting entrepreneurs, businesses and community organisations, helping to create a welcoming and vibrant enterprise community.
