Embedded Linux Engineer
Requirements
Candidates should have 1-5 years of experience in embedded software engineering, with a strong background in C programming and embedded Linux. Familiarity with communication interfaces and low-level device drivers is also required.
Job Description
An established engineering company based in Farnborough are looking for an embedded software engineer, please see details on the role and company below:
- Develop & maintain existing Beamforming Embedded Software products
- Timely delivery of software to a variety of product lines integrating with customer projects
- Contribute to evolution of the design and product roadmap
- Support automation tools and continuous integration methodologies
- Take ownership of issues on products and engage with customers as appropriate
- Produce documentation at all levels of lifecycle (concept, design, training material etc.)
Location: Farnborough, Hampshire

Job Requirements
- Experience of full lifecycle embedded software development
- 1-5 years’ experience within embedded software engineering
- C programming embedded software engineering experience, preferably on ARM or similar processor
- Experience working with embedded Linux embedded (kernel and user-space development and debugging, Yocto, Buildroot, low level drivers)
- Communication interfaces; Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART, USB
- Low level Device Driver experience and ability to develop integrate and test
- Knowledge on RF fundamentals and communications theory desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of code coverage tools and unit test environments desirable. But not essential
Interview process: There will be a 2-stage process, with 30–45-minute teams call, then an Onsite technical interview.
