The Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusion plays a critical role in helping to prioritise staff and student development, engagement, accreditation, monitoring and integrated practice improvement needs. Led by the Assistant Vice-President (EDI) who reports to the President, and the Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), the Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusion is a single University-wide unit that works proactively to foster an inclusive organisational culture and support the progression and success of our staff and students.
Responsibilities
To lead on the prioritisation and delivery of the EDI Action Plan in line with City St George’s Vision and Strategy 2035
To lead and raise the profile of institutional-level race and gender equity activity applying an intersectional lens through implementation of the Race and Gender Equity Action Plans
To work in partnership with Deans and Professional Service Directors to ensure EDI actions are implemented across Schools and Professional Services
Line management of Senior EDI Officers
The successful candidate will hold a first degree or equivalent experience; they will have experience of working in higher education or other large complex organisation, alongside line management experience and experience of successfully delivering a charter mark award or equivalent.
They will have excellent presentation, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, be confident in the use of IT systems, have the ability to work independently or as part of a team and confidence in dealing with people at all levels.
