This environment will support ambitious, curiosity-driven researchers, building upon established strengths in genetics, cell biology, in vivo model systems, human disease and health data science while enabling novel, interdisciplinary approaches to fundamental biological, technological and social mechanisms underpinning health and disease.

Before beginning the three-year PhD project, a lead-in year will feature 0.7 FTE dedicated research time to support development of external funding applications, and the post-PhD year will feature protected research time to work towards substantiative further funding.

Candidates will be expected to identify and apply for external PhD funding during their lead-in year.
