Department: Brunel Language Centre

Location: North China University of Technology (NCUT), Beijing, People’s Republic of China or Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), Chongqing, People’s Republic of China or Wuhan University of Technology (WUT).

Salary: Grade 7: £38,784 to £46,049 per annum, with potential to progress to £50,253 per annum (the equivalent in CNY) through sustained exceptional contribution (Pro-rata to 40 weeks per year)

Hours: Full-time for 40 weeks per year

Brunel Language Centre (BLC) https://www.brunel.ac.uk/international/language-centre , Brunel University of London has teaching opportunities in China for a well-qualified and motivated EAP practitioner who is passionate about learning and teaching.

The post-holder will be based in China for the duration of the programme and will work closely with:

  • North China University of Technology (NCUT), Beijing, People’s Republic of China or Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), Chongqing, People’s Republic of China.
  • We also have 1 available position located in Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) from September.
  • Brunel Language Centre, Brunel University of London.
  • College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, Brunel University of London.


The programme’s teaching and assessment periods are organised into two 16-week blocks during the periods of 14 September 2026 to 1 January 2027 (Semester 1) and 1 March 2027 to 18 June 2027 (Semester 2). These are the anticipated dates but may be subject to change. The start date may also be adjusted to allow time for obtaining the appropriate work permit, if required. During the non-teaching and assessment period between mid-June to mid-September, the post-holder will be expected to be on annual leave. .

The successful applicant will work within a growing team of EAP tutors and have responsibility for contributing to the successful delivery of a suite of English programmes in Transnational Education (TNE) with NCUT, CQUPT or WUT. A team player with experience in a busy working environment, you are a self-starter with excellent decision-making skills. You have a proven interest in teaching technologies and a willingness to embrace latest teaching software. You have empathy with differing cultures and a willingness to develop and improve the student experience of undergraduate students who need to raise their level of English within the context of their degree subject.
