Job Description
At Virgin Atlantic, we’re always looking for smarter ways to connect customers with the experiences they love. As our Digital Acquisition Specialist, you’ll play a key role in shaping how customers discover and choose Virgin Atlantic, using paid media to drive high-quality traffic, conversion and commercial growth.
Working across paid search, affiliates and aggregators, you’ll help manage an acquisition programme backed by around £18m in media investment and supporting approximately £350m in sales intake revenue. It’s a hands-on, commercially focused role where you’ll turn insight into action, respond to trading opportunities and continually improve the return from our digital investment.
Day to day
- You’ll manage and optimise day-to-day digital acquisition activity across paid search, affiliates and aggregators, bringing our media plans to life and making sure investment is working as hard as possible.
- Activate and optimise paid media activity against commercial objectives, responding quickly to changing customer demand, trading priorities and performance opportunities.
- Help manage acquisition budgets across the UK, US and Rest of World, balancing investment decisions with commercial priorities and target ROAS.
- Manage important aggregator relationships, including Skyscanner and Kayak, to maximise qualified traffic and commercial value.
- Adapt acquisition activity for local markets, using customer behaviour and market insight to improve performance and conversion.
- Support demand generation for Virgin Atlantic Holidays and help identify the most effective channels for promoting ancillary products.
- Use performance data, attribution and customer journey insight to test, learn and continually improve our media mix.
- Work with agency partners to establish quarterly KPIs, forecasts and performance plans, spotting risks and opportunities early.
- Bring acquisition insight into trading conversations, helping colleagues understand what’s happening, why it’s happening and what we should do next.
- Partner with Analytics, Digital and Technology teams to strengthen tracking, attribution and reporting.
- Stay curious about the evolving paid media landscape, identifying emerging platforms, technologies and new traffic sources that could unlock incremental growth.
About you
- You’re commercially minded, comfortable working with data and excited by the possibilities of digital acquisition. You understand that great performance marketing isn’t simply about driving more traffic — it’s about finding the right customers, at the right moment, and making smart investment decisions that deliver sustainable value.
- Strong knowledge of paid media, particularly PPC, affiliates and aggregators.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and delivering against performance and commercial targets.
- A solid understanding of digital analytics, attribution and optimisation.
- Experience working with and managing media or agency partners.
- Familiarity with marketing technology and tag-management platforms.
- Strong stakeholder skills and the ability to translate complex performance data into clear recommendations and action.
- A test-and-learn mindset, with genuine curiosity about new technology, platforms and changing customer behaviour.
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent practical experience.

About Virgin Atlantic
Virgin Atlantic first took to the skies in 1984 to shake things up, bringing a sparkle of red, a touch of wit and a passion for flying to the grey world of airlines. We fell in love with creating the best experience in the skies for our customers, and they fell in love with us right back. Since then we’ve become Britain’s second largest carrier, with non-stop transatlantic routes including New York, Orlando, the Caribbean, Delhi and Johannesburg. And thanks to our hugely successful joint venture with Delta, Air France and KLM, we can seamlessly connect our customers to over 350 cities across North America, Europe and the UK. Today, we want to empower everyone to take on the world. The customers we proudly fly and our people who go the extra mile. As we embark on a brand spanking new era of travel, it gives us more opportunities to do things differently and lead the way with fresh ideas. This means becoming more sustainable for our planet and our destinations, and working hard to make travel open to everyone, no matter who you are, who you love or where you go. And of course never, ever, forgetting the small stuff - like the clink of champagne glasses on a special occasion or a cheeky cream tea at 30,000 feet.
