Job Overview

We are looking for an Deputy Radiology Systems Manager to help lead, develop and support PACS, RIS and associated radiology information systems across Hywel Dda University Health Board.

This is an opportunity for a skilled radiographer with strong radiology IT experience to play a key role in maintaining safe, efficient and high-performing digital imaging services across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

You will work closely with the Radiology Systems Manager, clinical teams, administrative colleagues, Digital Data and Technology, and system suppliers to ensure radiology systems support timely diagnosis, effective workflows and excellent patient care.

The role combines specialist systems leadership, service improvement, training, governance, data quality and operational support, with the opportunity to contribute to system upgrades, new modality integration, business continuity planning and wider radiology transformation.

We are seeking someone who is proactive, flexible and collaborative, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to high standards of clinical governance, information governance and service continuity.

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Radiology Systems Manager will support the day-to-day management, administration and development of PACS, RIS and associated radiology information systems, ensuring systems are reliable, effective and responsive to service needs.

You will provide specialist advice and first-line support to clinical and administrative users, analyse complex system and workflow issues, coordinate fault resolution, monitor system performance and help maintain robust audit trails, access controls, data quality processes and asset records.

The post holder will support training, quality assurance, image transfer, system configuration, upgrades, new equipment and modality integration, business continuity arrangements and improvement projects. The role will also include supervising PACS/RIS administrative staff, supporting safe service continuity and deputising for the Radiology Systems Manager when required.

• 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 99 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
