Job Description

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, professional and highly organised individual to join the Dental Nursing team at Glasgow Dental Hospital and School.

The successful candidate will work as a rotational Dental Nurse across a variety of clinical departments, supporting the delivery of high-quality care to a diverse patient group. The post will provide the opportunity to work across student clinics and specialist outpatient clinics within the Oral Health Directorate.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case-by-case basis following interview and during the pre-employment verification process. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Location: Glasgow Dental Hospital and School
  • Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:45 am – 5:15 pm
  • Hours: 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

You will provide efficient chairside support across student clinics and specialist outpatient clinics within the Oral Health Directorate, working flexibly across a variety of clinical departments as part of a rotational Dental Nursing service.

The role involves supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care to a diverse patient group and requires excellent practical, interpersonal and communication skills, together with the ability to demonstrate empathy and professionalism when working with patients, students and colleagues.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Applicants must hold valid registration as a Dental Nurse with the General Dental Council (GDC).
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD) must be provided.
  • Excellent practical and clinical Dental Nursing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across a variety of clinical departments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates empathy and a professional approach when dealing with patients.
  • Ability to provide effective chairside support within a clinical environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
