Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK’s Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health, and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

About The Role

The Business Intelligence Service, sitting within the Strategic Planning and Performance Directorate, provides data and insights for a whole range of strategically important indicators supporting the achievement of our priorities and KPIs by enabling pro-active and evidence-based decision-making, identification of risk areas and actions to tackle challenges.

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong problem solving, analytical and data visualization skills to join our team to lead on the design and delivery of advanced qualitative and quantitative data analysis and insights from our surveys; student satisfaction, graduate outcomes, module evaluation and others.

The Data Insight Lead (Student Experience) will be responsible for extracting, collating, validating, interpreting and clearly presenting findings from a range of large and complex datasets, applying latest best practice tools and techniques. In their role as survey data specialist, they will also work together with colleagues across the University, survey providers and statutory agencies to support survey planning and delivery; providing advice and guidance on statutory and data requirements, scoping and specifying survey populations, enabling response rate monitoring and improvement and running training/engagement sessions to build a strong network of informed and engaged data users in both academic and professional service roles.

With a degree, equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience within the Higher Education sector, you will have the advanced statistical skills and experience needed to undertake complex data analysis and make best use of a wide range of data to guide and inform institutional key messages, strategy development and decision-making.

The role requires excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills, alongside resilience and flexibility to work in a fast paced and pressurised environment.
