Become part of our team! You make the difference - YOUMAKEUS

As part of our great team here at DTFS, we have an exciting opportunity for a Data Foundation & Quality Specialist (Data Management & AI Readiness), who will be part of enabling our AI journey and the operational excellence transformation.

We’re looking for someone to be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency and reliability of data across Daimler Truck Financial Services UK systems and databases.

This role is perfect if you’d like to focus on the interrogation and validation of data, as well as proactively propose solutions to prevent incorrect data entries and improve data quality at its origin.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Working in this role the key purpose will be:

The Data Foundation and Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency and reliability of data across Daimler Truck Financial Services UK systems and databases. The role focuses on the regular, algorithm-based interrogation and validation of data, the identification and correction of data anomalies, and the systematic cleansing and enrichment of databases.

In addition, the role proactively proposes solutions to permanently prevent incorrect data entries at source and looks beyond the Financial Services data landscape to upstream source systems to improve data quality at origin.

The role works closely with the Business Intelligence Specialist, providing reliable data to generate business insights, support data-driven process improvements (Kaizen) and enable KPI tracking.

By establishing a high-quality, well-structured and trustworthy data foundation, the role directly enables the successful implementation of the company's Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation strategies and forms a key building block of the Next Level UK strategy.

You will:

  • Perform regular, structured data queries and algorithm-based checks across core databases to identify errors, inconsistencies, duplicates, gaps and outliers.

  • Execute systematic data cleansing, correction and enrichment activities to ensure databases are accurate, complete, consistent and up to date.

  • Prepare and structure high-quality datasets to support the implementation of AI, machine learning and automation initiatives as part of the Next Level UK strategy.

  • Propose sustainable solutions to permanently prevent incorrect data entries at source, applying error-proofing principles (e.g., Poka Yoke), input validation, mandatory fields, drop-down standardisation and system-side controls.

  • Look beyond the Financial Services data landscape to upstream source systems and data feeds (e.g., Daimler Truck UK), analyse data quality at origin and make concrete recommendations to improve the quality of source data.

  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence Specialist, providing clean, structured and reliable data to generate business insights, support data-driven process improvements (data-based Kaizen) to enable robust KPI tracking and reporting.

  • Develop, maintain and run automated data quality rules, validation routines and monitoring scripts to detect and flag data anomalies on an ongoing basis.

  • Investigate root causes of recurring data quality issues and coordinate with system owners and business units to implement corrective and preventive measures.

  • Maintain data quality documentation, data dictionaries, validation logic and cleansing procedures to ensure transparency, traceability and audit readiness.

  • Support data governance and act as a point of contact for data quality topics, applying data standards and compliance requirements (including GDPR) and promoting a culture of data ownership.

This is a newly created role that will play an important part in supporting our transformation journey and the delivery of our DTFS Next Level strategy. As the role and business requirements continue to evolve, the responsibilities and reporting line for this position may change to ensure they remain aligned with the future needs of the business.
