Requirements
Significant experience in cyber security risk management and assurance, with strong knowledge of recognised cyber risk frameworks, industry standards, and assurance programmes in a large organisation. Understanding of critical national infrastructure regulations, including NIS Regulations and the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework, plus leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills; CISSP, CISM, GICSP, or equivalent certifications are desirable.
Job Description
Salary: £66,000-£82,500 (plus up to 20% bonus, double match pension, private healthcare and a car allowance)
Location: Glasgow (hybrid, 2-3 days in the office)

We're looking for a Cyber Risk & Assurance Manager to provide independent oversight and assurance across our cyber security landscape, helping ensure that cyber risks are understood, managed, and controlled effectively across the organisation.
What You'll Be Doing
Operating within the second line of defence, this role will shape and maintain the cyber risk management framework while providing constructive challenge to risk and control activities across both IT and OT environments. Working closely with business and technology teams, you'll help strengthen cyber resilience, support regulatory compliance, and provide senior leaders with the insight needed to make informed risk-based decisions.
This is a highly visible position with responsibility for monitoring the organisation's cyber risk posture, overseeing assurance activities, and ensuring that cyber controls remain effective in an evolving threat landscape. The role also plays a key part in embedding a strong risk culture, promoting accountability, transparency, and ownership of cyber security risk across the business.
You'll lead a team of cyber risk and assurance specialists, providing oversight of risk assessments, control reviews, assurance programmes, and third-party cyber risk management. The position offers the opportunity to influence cyber security strategy across a large and complex organisation while working closely with senior stakeholders, executive committees, regulators, auditors, and industry bodies.
What You’ll Bring
You'll lead a team of cyber risk and assurance specialists, providing oversight of risk assessments, control reviews, assurance programmes, and third-party cyber risk management. The position offers the opportunity to influence cyber security strategy across a large and complex organisation while working closely with senior stakeholders, executive committees, regulators, auditors, and industry bodies.
We're seeking an experienced cyber security professional with a strong background in cyber risk management, governance, and assurance. You'll have deep knowledge of recognised cyber risk frameworks and industry standards, alongside experience developing and delivering assurance programmes within a large-scale organisation. An understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting critical national infrastructure, including NIS Regulations, NCSC CAF, and wider energy sector requirements, will be highly valuable.
Just as important is the ability to translate complex cyber risks into clear business language. You'll be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, building trusted relationships, and providing balanced challenge that supports effective decision making. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills will be key to success in the role.
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GICSP, or equivalent are desirable, alongside significant experience in cyber security risk management and assurance.
