Help us create a better future, quicker
SP Energy Networks is delivering more than £10 billion of investment into the GB electricity grid over the next five years, helping accelerate the transition to a cleaner, more secure energy future. A key part of this investment is the delivery of the Eastern Green Link 4 (EGL4) HVDC project, a flagship joint venture between SP Energy Networks and National Grid.
As HVDC Cost Management Lead, you'll play a critical role in the financial management and successful delivery of one of the UK's largest and most strategically important energy infrastructure projects. Working at the heart of a complex joint venture environment, you'll establish and drive robust cost management processes, reporting frameworks and financial controls that support project delivery while contributing directly to the UK's journey to Net Zero.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll lead the development and continuous improvement of cost management standards, processes and reporting across the joint venture, ensuring accurate, timely and insightful financial information is available to support decision making. You'll oversee month-end reporting, cost forecasting, budget performance reviews and cash flow management, while providing expert financial guidance to project leadership and key stakeholders.
Working closely with project management, commercial, regulation, treasury and finance teams across both ScottishPower and National Grid, you'll maintain oversight of project performance against budgets and regulatory requirements. You'll manage key processes including value of work done reporting, intercompany invoicing, cash calls, cost breakdown structures and forecasting activities, while proactively identifying risks, resolving cost-related issues and supporting both statutory and management accounting requirements.
What You'll Bring
You'll be a qualified accountant, or possess equivalent significant experience, ideally gained within a major project, infrastructure or project delivery environment. You'll combine strong financial and commercial expertise with the ability to interpret complex information, challenge assumptions constructively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
We're Also Looking For
As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
At ScottishPower, we believe it's the little things we do in life that make a big difference. From helping you look after your family's wellbeing, save for your future and take personal steps for climate action, our benefits are designed to help you do just that, so that you have everything you need to take care of your world, today and tomorrow.
