Job Description
NHS Fife Internal applicants only - You must be currently employed by NHS Fife to be eligible to apply for this post
Due to maternity leave within our team, a fixed-term opportunity has arisen to support children and young people with complex health needs across a variety of settings. These include Glenmar Residential House, private residences throughout Fife, and educational environments.
This service operates as part of the wider Children and Young People’s Community Nursing Service (CYPCNS). We work collaboratively with partners across Health and Social Care, the third sector, and Education to deliver high-quality, holistic care.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated Registered Nurse who is committed to providing safe, effective, and child-centred care.
Under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader, the post holder will provide nursing care and support to children and young people with exceptional healthcare needs, ensuring consistently high standards of care are delivered. This will be achieved through the provision of training and supervision to nursing staff, healthcare support workers, education and social care staff, as well as students, in clinical skills relevant to children with complex healthcare needs.
Working alongside the Nurse Team Leader, you will contribute to ensuring that all aspects of the Child’s Plan are implemented effectively. You will also support and supervise junior staff members and parents in the day-to-day delivery of care.
Applicants must be Registered Nurses. Previous experience of working with children and young people with complex or exceptional healthcare needs would be advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-agency team.
You will receive all necessary training required for the role and will benefit from working alongside a knowledgeable and experienced team, with opportunities for ongoing professional development
For informal enquiries, please contact Jennifer Murphy (Nurse Team Leader) Jennifer.Murphy1@nhs.scot
Salary is pro rata for part time hours if applicable

As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK websitehere.
For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be foundhere.
It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsoredBEFORE submitting your application form.
