The Commercial Improvement Manager is responsible for driving end-to-end commercial improvement across the Business Energy portfolio, supporting SME and Industrial & Commercial (I&C) segments and optimisation of CPPA and sustainable energy solutions.
The role focuses on improving sales processes, customer journeys, systems and commercial frameworks to drive efficiency, scalability and performance.
Working cross-functionally across Sales, Pricing, Product, Operations, Digital and Wholesale, the role supports revenue growth, margin optimisation and improved customer outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive commercial improvement initiatives across SME, I&C and PPA sales channels
- Improve end-to-end customer lifecycle performance from lead through to billing
- Support optimisation of CPPA end to end processes including contract negotiation, governance, onboarding and in contract lifecycle management.
- Enhance sales effectiveness across direct and partner channels
- Define and track commercial performance metrics
- Support system and process improvements with Digital / IT
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance frameworks
- Deliver improvement roadmaps aligned to Business Energy strategy
- Responsible for the collation of submission packs for responding to CPPA tenders/RfQs/RfPs, including pricing from each business to provide a full ScottishPower offering
- Working with Compliance , Legal , Regulation and Cyber teams in assessing , designing, delivering or evolving necessary requirements across Business Energy Sales
- Assist in the engagement of customers, both new and existing, to continue bi-lateral discussions on the pipeline of projects seeking a route to market through CPPAs
- Supports SME and I&C customer base and revenue performance
- Contributes to CPPA portfolio development and optimisation
- Operates across Sales, Product, Pricing, Operations and Digital
- Influences customer acquisition, onboarding and retention performance
- Proven experience leading business transformation, process improvement or commercial change programmes within the energy, utilities or B2B services sector.
- Demonstrable success delivering measurable commercial outcomes, such as revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, customer experience improvements or operational efficiency gains
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Senior Stakeholder management and cross-functional delivery experience
- Proven experience managing multiple initiatives across different business areas
- Structured approach to project delivery
- Understanding of Business Energy markets (SME/I&C) is highly desirable
- PPA or renewable contract experience, alongside regulatory knowledge is desirable
- Demonstrated experience in commercial or operational improvement at a senior level
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to deliver measurable improvements
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-changing environment
