Deliver independent commercial assurance activities across SPA, supporting the Commercial Assurance Strategy through targeted reviews, risk-based assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives reporting to the Commercial Assurance Lead 

Responsible for providing robust assurance over commercial processes, supplier arrangements, contract management and governance activities while identifying opportunities for efficiency, savings and performance improvement. 

You’ll be responsible for:

Assurance delivery 

  • Undertaking risk-based assurance reviews across SPA. 
  • Delivering assurance activities covering procurement, supply chain management, contract administration and commercial governance. 
  • Reviewing commercial data, trends and risks to provide meaningful insight and recommendations. 
  • Supporting delivery of monthly commercial assurance activities. 

Contracting and supply chain assurance 

  • Assessing compliance with SPA contracts, governance processes and commercial procedures. 
  • Undertaking reviews of early warnings, compensation events, defined cost, fee and forecasting activities. 
  • Carrying out supplier and Tier 2 assurance reviews to confirm value for money and contractual compliance.  
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities within the supply chain. 

Reporting and engagement 

  • Producing concise assurance reports and recommendations. 
  • Engaging collaboratively with Alliance Members and Anglian Water stakeholders. 
  • Presenting assurance findings in a constructive and value-focused manner. 

Continuous improvement 

  • Identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance, controls and efficiency. 
  • Supporting implementation of best practice across Alliance Members. 
  • Tracking assurance actions through closure and measure resulting benefits. 
  • Supporting development of lessons learnt and assurance intelligence. 
  • Supporting the identification of cost avoidance, efficiency improvements and value creation opportunities. 

You’ll need to have:

  • Degree, memberships or equivalent demonstratable experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Finance Management or similar. 
  • Professional membership: RICS, CICES, CIMA or equivalent (preferred).
