An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated registered Learning Disability Nurse to join our specialist Neurology team as a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Epilepsy and Learning Disability. This unique role provides the opportunity to deliver highly specialised care, improve patient outcomes and help shape the future development of epilepsy services across NHS Forth Valley.
Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert assessment, care planning, education, advice and ongoing support to adults with complex epilepsy and learning disabilities. You will also work closely with families, carers, community services and partner organisations to promote high quality, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities

- Develop and review personalised care plans, seizure management plans and rescue medication protocols.
- Offer expert advice and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
- Lead and deliver specialist education and training programmes.
- Contribute to audit, service development, governance and quality improvement activities.
- Act as a specialist resource across health and social care partnerships.
- Registered Learning Disability Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Significant post-registration experience, ideally including epilepsy and/or learning disability services.
- Excellent communication, leadership and clinical decision-making skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous professional development and person-centred care.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
