Competitive Salary: Between £67,000 - £85,000 depending on experience

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Clinical Director to join us in our Companion Animal division at The Village Veterinary Hospital – Caterham, based in Surrey.
The Role
As a Clinical Director, you'll provide clinical leadership across the hospital in Caterham and our other two small animal branches, Merstham and Smallfield, as well as the 24/7 Out of Hours service, championing our values and supporting teams to achieve outstanding clinical standards.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours a week across 4 or 5 days – we can be flexible so just let us know what works for you. The role will involve a share in the weekend rota, and the level of out of hours support can be discussed as we have a well-established OOH team supported by an experienced Lead Vet.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing clinical leadership alongside working as a Veterinary Surgeon
- Inspiring, coaching, and developing teams to deliver exceptional patient care
- Driving continuous improvement in clinical standards, quality, and performance
- Building strong relationships and working collaboratively with the practice team and other leaders across the region
- Conducting small animal surgery and client consultations
- Championing our company values and embedding them into everyday practice
- Using financial information, KPIs, and business data to identify opportunities for service development and drive performance
- Supporting change, innovation, and new ways of working
Our Caterham hospital offers an excellent range of facilities, including laparoscopic surgery equipment, endoscopy, dedicated meeting & training spaces, and an adjoining cat hotel – which is a great place to escape the chaos and admire the residents! You'll work alongside experienced colleagues, including a certificate holder in cardiology and a dedicated Out of Hours Lead Vet, allowing you to focus on leading the day-to-day clinical team and developing practice performance.
You'll also support our Smallfield and Merstham branches, both of which have a welcoming community feels and loyal client base, offering the opportunity to build lasting client relationships while working across a varied caseload. As a recognised training environment, we are passionate about developing future veterinary professionals and supporting clinical progression at all levels.

About You
This is a key leadership role, and to success you will need to have:
- MRCVS registration and experience working as a veterinary surgeon
