Job Description

Civil Structural Consultant

Stockport | Hybrid Working

£45,000 - £60,000 per annum (c. 4-8 years experience)

Move beyond design. Help deliver the infrastructure powering the energy transition.
Not every Civil or Structural Engineer wants to spend their career sat behind design software. If you're looking to take a broader role in project delivery, technical coordination and stakeholder management while still applying your engineering expertise, this consultancy could offer the perfect next step.

Our client is a leading independent engineering consultancy working at the forefront of the UK's energy and infrastructure sectors. Their teams support the development and delivery of major projects including battery storage facilities, renewable energy developments, hydrogen schemes, power generation assets and electricity network infrastructure.

This role offers the opportunity to work as a trusted technical advisor, helping clients deliver complex engineering projects from concept through to construction, without being primarily responsible for detailed design production.

The Opportunity

You'll act as a key technical point of contact across a range of energy and infrastructure projects, coordinating engineering activities, reviewing technical outputs and helping projects progress through planning, design and construction phases.

Working alongside multidisciplinary specialists, contractors, developers and asset owners, you'll combine your engineering background with project delivery and client-facing responsibilities.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Civil or Structural Engineer looking to broaden their career beyond traditional consultancy design work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinating civil and structural engineering activities across multiple projects
  • Managing technical interfaces between clients, contractors and design teams
  • Reviewing engineering deliverables and technical documentation
  • Supporting project planning, procurement and delivery activities
  • Monitoring project progress, risks and key milestones
  • Undertaking site visits and attending client meetings
  • Providing technical advice throughout project lifecycles (concept to completion, and sometimes through operation)
  • Supporting project managers and acting as a trusted engineering advisor

What's In It For You?

✅Competitive annual salary with leading bonus scheme of up to 20% of salary

✅ Private medical & life assurance
✅ Hybrid and flexible working arrangements

✅ Work on nationally significant energy and infrastructure projects

✅ Play a key role in the UK's transition to net-zero

✅ Excellent chartership and professional development support
