The Role

 

The Commercial Department at PRS for Music is the customer facing and revenue generating arm of one of the world’s leading music copyright collectives. We are a UK based team of over 40 individuals who currently generate in excess of £650 million per year for our members through licensing music usage to a wide variety of industries, including; major and independent record labels, music festivals, broadcasters, computer game platforms and publishers and increasingly Web3 and the Metaverse.

 

We are currently undergoing a dynamic and exciting Sales Transformation process that will result in us delivering in excess of £1 billion a year to our members by 2026 and we are looking for new colleagues to help us reach our goals.  We love our music and we love the challenge and responsibilities that go with delivering what is due to UK songwriters, composers and music publishers and we want to bring in talented individuals who can help us achieve significant growth by selling the benefits of music into the marketplace.

 


Responsibilities

As our Campaign Manager, some of your day to day duties will include…

  • Contribute to and successfully deliver result inline with the licensing sales strategy, liaising with the licensing management team, commercial development and the Marketing dept to ensure best resultsIdentify and manage opportunities to exhibit at a wide range of events, trade shows, awards dos and exhibitions to engage existing licensing base as well as attract new markets
  • Develop and manage outbound sales campaigns with the aim of securing new business and growing PRS for Music revenues, setting clear objectives/KPIs for each campaign and licensing project to evaluate performance and demonstrating return on investment
  • Undertake research and sector specific analysis to identify new opportunities and sales leads including working with other PRS for Music teams to create targeted, and general, dynamic, engaging multi-media sales collateral to drive new business
  • Work cross functionally across the Commercial department to hit KPIs e.g. liaise with the Senior Managers for Physical & Media, and Digital & Audio to ensure that Campaigns are fit for purpose, as well as delivering on departmental targets
  • Present performance of Campaigns quarterly to Head of Sales, and Director of Commercial Development & Sales, as well as ad hoc in team / departmental meetings
  • Work with internal marketing teams (Marcomms) to align Commercial campaigns with PRS initiatives, as well as co-ordinating new sales collateral, implementing digital marketing (e.g. PPC campaigns), and co-ordinating Commercial campaign rolls outs cross functionally
  • Developing the appropriate metrics for the pipeline e.g. consistently measure the factors that turn leads into sales, time to close, number of calls per day that the sales channels make and the number/type of contact points (such as e-mails, visits and follow-up calls) require to turn leads to opportunities then to licensees.
  • Work with the Sales Transformation team to develop new processes and capabilities within the company CRM (Cadence, powered by Salesforce). Be a point of contact for new systems roll outs, and an expert on new functionality

  • Excellent knowledge of relevant industries and music rights, including good understanding of copyright law and PRS for Music
  • Experience in managing marketing budgets and building business cases
  • Existing relationships or contacts within the music and/or wider media industries

The Process


Our interview process for this role is simple:

  • First stage interview will take place virtually on MS Teams.

  • Second stage interview will take place in person at our London Bridge Hub.

This allows you to provide examples of situations where you have had to demonstrate the required skills relevant to the role you are applying for. We offer a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work from home up to three days a week.
