Help us create a better future, quicker
At SP Energy Networks, we're committed to delivering the energy infrastructure required for a cleaner, greener future. As Business Separation Compliance Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in protecting the integrity of our regulated business by leading and evolving our Business Separation compliance framework. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of governance, compliance and assurance, ensuring we meet our regulatory obligations while supporting the transition to Net Zero. You'll influence senior stakeholders across the organisation, work directly with regulators and independent assurance partners, and shape the controls that underpin a fair, transparent and compliant operating environment.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll act as the organisation's Business Separation subject matter expert, providing trusted advice and challenge to senior leaders and teams across SP Energy Networks. You'll lead the development and continuous improvement of our compliance framework, ensuring that regulatory obligations are translated into practical controls, effective processes and robust evidence.
You'll oversee the annual Business Separation submissions to Ofgem, maintain the Statement of Compliance, and provide assurance over the effectiveness of key controls. Working closely with control owners and senior stakeholders, you'll identify risks and gaps, drive remediation activity and produce insightful reporting that supports informed decision-making. You'll also act as the primary point of contact for Business Separation matters with external assurance partners and regulatory stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a compliance, risk or assurance professional who can combine technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
You'll bring significant experience gained within a regulated or complex business environment, along with a strong understanding of how regulatory requirements are translated into effective controls and assurance activities. You'll be comfortable assessing control effectiveness, identifying improvement opportunities and providing practical, risk-based advice.
You'll also have excellent communication and influencing skills, enabling you to build trusted relationships and confidently challenge senior stakeholders when required. Experience of regulatory reporting, governance processes, audit, compliance or assurance activity will be highly beneficial.
Knowledge of the energy sector, utilities regulation or working with regulators would be advantageous, as would a professional qualification in risk, compliance, audit, governance or a related discipline.
What's In It For You
As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
At ScottishPower, we believe it's the little things we do in life that make a big difference. From helping you look after your family's wellbeing, save for your future and take personal steps for climate action, our benefits are designed to help you do just that, so that you have everything you need to take care of your world today and tomorrow.
