About The Role
We're hiring a Business Analyst to join Wiley's Delivery & Change Excellence function, reporting to the Senior Director, Delivery & Enablement. This is a hands-on role on our transformation projects. You'll bring deep expertise in business analysis, with the flexibility to pick up project management or change management activities when the program needs it, to support successful delivery and adoption.
We're looking for someone with around five years' experience in delivery or change roles, with a strong focus on business analysis, who can apply sound judgement and operate confidently in a large global organization.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex programs and cross-functional initiatives that support the execution of the business and operating strategies
- Drive strategic initiatives that deliver measurable business value including revenue recognition, cost optimization, and operational excellence
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders including senior business leaders and demonstrate the business value of the program management function
- Develop program roadmaps and oversee program delivery with enterprise-wide visibility and buy-in, including budget management and resource allocation
- Act as an escalation point for program challenges and demonstrate creative problem solving for complex business challenges
- Maintain situational awareness on strategic business initiatives across the enterprise, business risks, and competitive landscape
- Work with extended teams to design, create and implement new processes and automation and drive implementation of process improvements
- Ensure governance, monitoring and measurement of programs utilizing industry standard project management methodologies
- Serve as a coach/mentor for program and project managers to enhance their skills and provide career development opportunities
- Continually assess and implement project management best practices, processes and methodologies to scale the organization
- Lead through and manage large-scale organizational change
- Lead and manage strategic cross-functional special initiatives including M&A integrations, systems upgrades, digital transformations
- Develop strong relationships and collaborate with team members across the enterprise in different functional groups, time zones, and geographies
- Project manage delivery of large operational platform and process improvements that support organizational priorities
- Senior stakeholder management including executive communications
- Manage and supervise team of project managers and project team members, providing performance coaching and career guidance as needed
- Oversee and manage direct report performance, including coaching and development plans
- Develop project schedules, budgets and timelines, and ensure successful delivery within budget and on time
- Manage project risks and issues and implement mitigation plans as required
- Manage budget, P&L, and resource allocation for various enterprise initiatives
- Lead postmortem sessions and help implement and monitor continuous improvement plans
- Coach senior and junior team members on effective project management practices and methodologies
- Drive PMO activities including governance, communication, process standardization and automation
- Lead global teams through complex projects in a technology environment
- Collaborate with team members, business partners, and other stakeholders to deliver business solutions
- Project manage complex cross-functional technical initiatives including application rationalization, enterprise software implementations
- Provide visibility into project health status and present regular updates to stakeholders and executive leadership
- Collaborate with business and technology partners to optimize business processes and deliver technical solutions that meet stakeholder requirements
- Work flexibly across the delivery team. Step into adjacent work when the project needs it, without losing depth in own area.
- Manage project deliverables through the entire software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including project plans, risk registers, requirements documents and status reports
- 5+ years overall professional experience
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple large scale, complex enterprise initiatives with budgets in excess of $1M
- Technical acumen and experience with business systems, applications, integrations and infrastructure
- Exceptionally strong communication skills; both written and verbal including presentation skills to diverse audiences, including executive leadership
- Strong business acumen and experience working closely with senior executives and business leaders
- Demonstrable experience driving results in a complex matrixed organization
- Proven track record of success leading cross-functional teams and working across different business units
- Proven experience providing direct people management of project teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience developing and managing budgets and P&L
- Strong understanding and experience using project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Lean, etc.)
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, etc.)
- PMP certification strongly preferred
- Prior experience in Publishing, Media, Technology, or other relevant industries is a plus
- MBA is a plus
- Excellent business communications skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members and business partners at all levels of the organization
- Strong listening and communications skills
