Job Description

Broker – Media & Entertainment

We are seeking an experienced Broker to manage a portfolio of Media & Entertainment insurance placements and renewals. You will take ownership of the full placement lifecycle – from renewal planning and market strategy through to negotiation, completion and documentation – delivering high‑quality outcomes for clients and supporting the continued growth of our Media & Entertainment portfolio.

Working closely with Client Directors, Client Managers and colleagues across the wider Aon network, you will ensure placements are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with regulatory, compliance and internal governance requirements. You will also play a key role in developing insurer relationships and identifying opportunities to enhance client outcomes.

What The Day Will Look Like

Portfolio & Renewal Management

  • Manage an allocated portfolio of Media & Entertainment renewals and placements with a good degree of day‑to‑day independence.
  • Plan and manage the renewal lifecycle, ensuring activity starts in good time and agreed timelines and milestones are met.
  • Work with Client Directors and Client Managers to understand client objectives, renewal strategy, programme structure and placement requirements.
  • Review existing programmes and identify opportunities to improve coverage, structure, pricing or placement strategy.
  • Ensure all information provided to insurers is complete, accurate and presented to a high standard.
  • Maintain clear oversight of renewal progress, identifying potential issues early and escalating where appropriate.

Technical Broking & Market Negotiation

  • Provide strong technical broking input across relevant Media & Entertainment lines of business.
  • Review and compare insurer quotations, terms and policy wordings, highlighting material differences in coverage, conditions and pricing.
  • Support the development and execution of effective placement strategies, including for more complex or challenging risks.
  • Lead standard market negotiations and day‑to‑day client communications for your own accounts.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with insurers and underwriters, understanding their appetite and capabilities.
  • Challenge insurer positions where appropriate and negotiate improvements to terms, coverage and pricing on behalf of clients.

Client Service & Collaboration

  • Work in partnership with Client Directors and Client Managers to deliver a high‑quality, timely service to Media & Entertainment clients.
  • Participate in client meetings, renewal discussions and presentations as required.
  • Explain technical insurance matters clearly and provide practical recommendations to support client decision‑making.
  • Provide specialist broking input throughout the policy lifecycle and respond to technical queries.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and add value through additional products, services or programme enhancements.

Commercial, Compliance & Governance

  • Maintain an awareness of income associated with your portfolio and support the achievement of team revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Contribute to retention and profitable growth by delivering strong technical and placement outcomes.
  • Ensure all broking and placement activity is undertaken in line with regulatory requirements and Aon policies, procedures and governance standards.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of market approaches, negotiations, client instructions and placement decisions.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring allocated renewals meet required compliance and quality standards and support any audit or quality assurance activity.

  • Strong technical insurance and broking knowledge, with the ability to analyse complex programmes, quotations and policy wordings.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with a good understanding of insurance market practices and insurer relationships.
  • Highly organised, with strong portfolio‑management capability and the ability to manage multiple renewals and competing deadlines.
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of client retention, revenue and profitable growth.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of documentation and compliance.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to articulate technical concepts to clients and colleagues.
  • Collaborative team player, comfortable working independently on day‑to‑day activity while recognising when to escalate complex, unusual or high‑risk issues.
  • Proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement, with an interest in developing specialist knowledge of the Media & Entertainment sector.
