B6/7 Specialist Dietitian and Team Leader – (Development Opportunity)

Job Summary

Band 7 Dietitian or Band 6-7 Dietitian development post.

Are you an experienced Band 6 Dietitian looking to take that next step into a band 7 post looking for a new challenge whilst continuing to develop your clinical experience and leadership skills.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the development of a band 7 post within the Stroke and Neuro Team at Heartlands Hospital.

You will be working closely with the existing specialist therapists within the acute stroke team. There is a robust MDT within the stroke service and strong links with the stroke ESD and community teams.

This is an ideal opportunity if you have clinical interest in Stroke and Neurology and a strong motivation to develop skills and expertise and provide patient centred, evidenced based therapy.

You will need good clinical skills, a flexible approach; including excellent team working, organisational and time management skills. Evidence of prior leadership would be beneficial to support the role.

You will join our dynamic team of Therapists who strive towards holistic recovery.

Training and support will be provided by experienced Therapists already working in each speciality field with the focus on developing and maximising the potential and skills of the successful candidate via in house and funded courses.

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required

To deliver advanced dietetic assessment and treatment of patients and act as a source of expertise to fellow clinicians, Trust managers, Healthcare Professionals and other services internal and external to the Trust as required.

To manage, supervise and appraise staff and students within the specialist area.

To lead in training and development of clinical practice and service. To undertake clinical audits and evaluation of evidence based practice, initiating/participating in research within specialist area.
