Job Description Summary

The Associate Accountant role administers financial accounting activities by recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing standard schedules with supervision. It ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls to maintain accuracy of financial records.

This role is for fixed term period, up to one year, and based onsite at the STEMCELL facility located in Cambridge, United Kingdom.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Records journal entries and financial transactions in compliance with accounting policies and standards.
  • Performs reconciliations of assigned accounts including bank, balance sheet, and subledger accounts.
  • Prepares standard reports and schedules to support internal reviews and management reporting.
  • Responds to inquiries by providing supporting documentation for financial transactions.
  • Ensures accounting documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal controls.

Knowledge And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Knowledge of financial transaction recording standards and general ledger structures.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Google Suite for reporting and reconciliation.
  • Basic excel skills (i.e. vlookup).
  • Understanding of basic tax, cash, and compliance requirements in accounting.
  • Awareness of balance sheet and income statement fundamentals.

The annual salary for this job ranges from:

£32,800.00 - £44,400.00

STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package that may include health benefits, retirement savings, and more (depending on region).
