Your role

  • Deliver whole life carbon assessments, carbon footprinting studies and net zero transition pathways across a range of infrastructure and organisational projects.
  • Develop and maintain carbon models, including baseline assessments, hotspot analysis, optioneering studies, scenario modelling and decarbonisation pathways.
  • Lead a carbon training workstream to upskill staff in client organisations.
  • Support the delivery of carbon management services, including Carbon Management Plans, carbon reduction workshops and performance reporting.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations and client deliverables, ensuring outputs are robust, accurate and clearly communicated.
  • Present carbon modelling outputs and technical findings to project teams and clients, explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to bids and proposals through technical content preparation, methodology development and cost estimation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across AtkinsRéalis to integrate carbon considerations into project planning, design and delivery.

About you

  • Hands on experience in carbon modelling.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering whole life carbon assessments and/or organisational greenhouse gas inventories independently.
  • Experience applying recognised carbon accounting standards and methodologies, including PAS 2080, GHG Protocol and whole life carbon assessment approaches to develop carbon baselines, hotspot analyses, carbon reduction studies and decarbonisation pathways.
  • Experience using carbon modelling and assessment tools such as One Click LCA, National Highways Carbon Tool, RSSB Carbon Tool, advanced Excel-based carbon models.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify assumptions, interrogate datasets, undertake quantitative analysis and communicate findings clearly.
  • Experience producing technical reports and presenting complex information to clients and project teams.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present to and upskill varied stakeholders.
