Asset Integrator

Kent and the wider Southern Water Framework

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Asset Integrator to join Galliford Try's Water Division, supporting the Southern Water Strategic Delivery Wastewater Framework.

This role plays a key part in ensuring the successful commissioning, handover, and integration of assets across the framework. Working closely with project teams, commissioning specialists, client representatives, and operational stakeholders, you will help ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with Southern Water commissioning and testing standards.

As an Asset Integrator, you will support projects throughout their lifecycle, helping to ensure compliance with Southern Water's Commissioning and Testing Standards Manual (COM Process) and facilitating a smooth transition from project delivery through to operational takeover.

Working collaboratively with Southern Water's Capital Asset Creation Team, Galliford Try Project Managers, and the Commissioning Manager, you will help ensure that commissioning activities, documentation, quality requirements, and handover deliverables are completed to the required standards.

You will also support the successful resolution of defects, management of project risks and opportunities, and continuous improvement initiatives across the framework.

What You’ll Be Doing

Project Commissioning & Integration

  • Support the delivery of commissioning and testing activities in accordance with Southern Water's Commissioning and Testing Standards Manual (COM Process).
  • Create, maintain, and manage Asset Integration Manuals throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of project-specific MEICA requirements, commissioning activities, and interfaces with existing assets and operational processes.
  • Support the development of commissioning strategies, commissioning plans, and related documentation during both design and delivery phases.
  • Ensure commissioning requirements, project constraints, interfaces, and deliverables are clearly identified and documented.
  • Monitor the completion of commissioning documentation and support project teams in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Build effective working relationships with Southern Water Asset Creation and Operational Teams, project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and specialist support functions.
  • Engage with client representatives to understand lessons learned, identify opportunities for improvement, and support positive customer outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with Technical Authors, Document Controllers, DSEAR specialists, and other key stakeholders to ensure project requirements are understood and achieved.
  • Support framework-wide knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Project Reporting & Governance

  • Produce regular project reports to communicate commissioning status, documentation progress, risks, opportunities, and project readiness.
  • Maintain records that demonstrate project configuration, testing, verification, and compliance activities.
  • Provide updates to project teams and framework leadership to support effective decision-making and programme management.
  • Identify and communicate project risks, opportunities, and quality improvements.

Asset Handover & Takeover

  • Support the successful completion of project takeover activities and ensure handover requirements are fully understood and achieved.
  • Work with project teams and client representatives to agree and manage takeover deliverables.
  • Coordinate the completion of commissioning activities, outstanding actions, and snagging items prior to asset takeover.
  • Support the planning and verification of operational readiness requirements before takeover.
  • Act as a key point of contact during post-takeover defect management, coordinating activities with project teams and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
  • Produce regular reports on post-takeover defects and progress towards close-out.

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Promote safe working practices and support compliance with Galliford Try and client health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Support the application of Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules.
  • Ensure MEICA installation and commissioning activities are delivered in accordance with project specifications, asset standards, and industry requirements.
  • Encourage a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving across all project activities.
