Job Title: AIT & Mechanical Technician

Location: Reading (UK), 4 days onsite, Thursday- WFH

About Role:

We are seeking an AIT & Mechanical Technician to support the assembly, integration, and testing of complex hardware systems. This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a fast-paced, high-performance engineering environment.

What You'll Do:


  • Assemble and integrate satellite structures, subsystems, and propulsion hardware
  • Apply and record fastener torques using calibrated tools
  • Handle flight hardware in cleanroom, ESD-safe environments
  • Support environmental testing including vibration and structural campaigns
  • Build and maintain mechanical test fixtures and GSE
  • Maintain assembly records, inspections, and traceability documentation
  • Perform incoming inspection of mechanical parts and materials

What You'll Bring:


  • Experience assembling aerospace, defence, space, or other high-reliability hardware
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, including GD&T
  • Experience with torque-controlled assembly and calibrated tooling
  • Background working in cleanroom or controlled environments
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and documentation
  • ESD awareness and a strong safety-first mindset

Nice to Have:


  • Satellite or space industry experience
  • Knowledge of ECSS standards and MLI installation
  • Experience supporting vibration or structural testing
  • Basic CAD literacy and propulsion system exposure
