- Undertaking quantitative analysis to support the assessment and understanding of financial and insurance risks.
- Reviewing actuarial models, data and calculations to assess accuracy, consistency and reliability.
- Analysing model outputs and identifying potential issues, inconsistencies or areas requiring further investigation.
- Supporting stress and scenario analysis to assess the impact of different risk exposures.
- Preparing clear analytical outputs, supporting documentation and reports for internal review.
- Working closely with actuarial, risk and other stakeholders to ensure key deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Contributing to wider capital, risk management and regulatory projects as required.
About You
We are looking for a technically strong actuarial professional with excellent quantitative skills and a good understanding of insurance risk.
Ideally, you will have:
- 4–5 years' actuarial experience, with a recognised actuarial qualification either achieved or in progress.
- A strong quantitative, mathematical or statistical background.

- An understanding of capital modelling, capital assessment or insurance risk management.
- Exposure to actuarial validation processes, ideally within an insurance or Lloyd's environment.
- Experience reviewing model assumptions, methodologies and outputs.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with complex datasets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- A good understanding of the relationship between actuarial modelling and wider business risk.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider actuarial and risk team.
A fully qualified actuary would be ideal, although strong part-qualified candidates with relevant capital and validation experience will also be considered.
Contract Details
- Initial three-month contract.
- Expected start date: December 2026.
- Full-time commitment of four or five days per week.
- Contract structure and engagement arrangements to be confirmed.
