Requirements
A degree in a relevant subject and successful teaching experience in the subject area up to Level 3, including A Level, are required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage young people aged 16–19, are expected; the college will support the successful candidate in obtaining a Level 5 teaching qualification if they do not already have one.

Lecturer - Sociology
Sixth Form Centre
Location: Uxbridge Salary: £33,429 to £46,618 per annum including London Weighting Teacher training provided Post Type: Full Time Release Date: Thursday 24 September 2026 Closing Date: Thursday 08 October 2026 Interview Date: To be confirmed Reference: 2166-R
Our Sixth Form at Uxbridge College is responsible primarily for the delivery of A Level, AS, GCSE and BTEC Science courses and is based at the Uxbridge site. We have a track record of achieving strong results which places the Sixth Form amongst the top performing colleges nationally for A level progress. Historically, Sociology has been one of the best performing and most popular subjects within the Sixth Form. You would teach across Sociology programmes up to A Level.
You will possess a degree in a relevant subject and have successful teaching experience in the subject area up to Level 3, including A Level. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to engage young people aged 16-19. If you do not already possess a teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain the Level 5 teaching qualification.
We may be able to provide sponsorship for this role.
