Are you an experienced practitioner with a passion for high-quality, citizen-focused practice? Do you want to play a key role in supporting adults in Birmingham who are experiencing complex circumstances, including sensory impairment?

We are looking for a confident and motivated Senior Practitioner to join our Specialist Services team, aligned to the Sensory Impairment Rehabilitation Service. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Visual Impairment Rehabilitation and Hearing Impairment services, helping to lead practice, support staff and improve outcomes for citizens across Birmingham.

In this role, you will provide professional leadership and supervision to staff within a designated area, including supporting performance, appraisal and attendance management. You will also play an important part in ensuring high-quality practice, effective service delivery and positive outcomes for adults and their carers.

You will work with adults who may have multiple and complex presenting needs, supporting practice in line with the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, safeguarding procedures and other relevant legislation. You will help ensure that services are delivered in a joined-up, inclusive and responsive way, working closely with colleagues, partners and other agencies to meet the needs of Birmingham’s diverse communities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining direct practice, professional leadership and service improvement. You will support staff through coaching, mentoring, supervision and the sharing of good practice, while also contributing to the effective running and development of Adult Social Care services

About You

We are looking for someone who can bring sound professional knowledge, strong leadership skills and a clear commitment to improving outcomes for adults. You will be confident in supporting staff, managing risk, promoting safeguarding practice and working collaboratively with partners.

You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the confidence to support complex decision-making. You will also be able to identify opportunities for service improvement and help develop effective ways of working that support citizens, carers and staff.

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of professional practice, relevant legislation, supervision, safeguarding, partnership working and practice standards.

Why join us?

This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to adults living with sensory impairment and complex circumstances. You will be part of a specialist service where your professional judgement, leadership and commitment to excellent practice will help shape support for citizens across Birmingham.

If you are passionate about strengths-based, person-centred practice and want to support staff to deliver the best possible outcomes for adults and carers, we would welcome your application.

Please upload an up-to-date CV and Supporting Statement via the attachments part of your application.  The Supporting Statement should outline how you meet the criteria for the role through your personal qualities, skills and experience and include your motivation for applying to the post.  Note the Personal Statement should be no more than 1500 words.  Unfortunately, we cannot consider any applications without a CV and Personal Statement attached
