Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Developer to join the team within Digital Services - Ailsa Hospital. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
Monday to Thursday: 9am 5pm
Friday: 10.30am 5pm - Potential to change to another day if required.

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
As the Senior Developer within the Digital Services department, you will assume a pivotal leadership role, guiding a team of developers to deliver innovative and high-quality digital solutions that support the strategic objectives of the organisation. Your responsibilities will encompass the full lifecycle of digital systems and applications, including planning, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. You will leverage your technical expertise to provide oversight and direction, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and meet the required standards.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of digital systems and applications throughout the entire development lifecycle, from planning and development to implementation and maintenance.
They should have the capability to deliver innovative, high-quality digital solutions, and a strong understanding of how development work contributes to achieving strategic organisational objectives, operational performance, and the creation of digital intelligence products. Experience in engaging with operational teams to gather requirements, co-ordinate development activities, and ensure that solutions meet both user and organisational needs is essential. Additionally, candidates should have a track record of contributing to service or system redesign initiatives aimed at improving digital services in line with organisational goals.
