Job Description

The Role

As a Project Assistant within NHSGGC’s Glasgow Clinical Research Facility, you will play a key role in supporting innovative clinical research that improves patient care and outcomes across the region. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide essential administrative and technical support to ensure research projects run efficiently from start-up through to completion. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • You will be based at the Institute of Neurological Science, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
  • Working Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00 to 17:00
  • Full Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and project support to research teams across a range of clinical studies
  • Co-ordinate key components of research projects, including documentation management, approvals and timelines
  • Support research nurses and investigators with technical and procedural aspects of clinical trials
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records, including data collection through paper and electronic systems
  • Communicate effectively with research participants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Monitor project progress and identify any risks or issues, escalating appropriately to senior staff
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with research regulations, policies and good clinical practice standards

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Previous clerical or administrative experience or a recognised qualification in administration
  • Experience working within an NHS or healthcare environment with an understanding of care settings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to work confidently with IT systems
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with good literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also using initiative to work independently
  • Ability and willingness to travel across NHSGGC sites and adapt to a busy and varied working environment
