Himalayan Salt Suppliers Ltd is a private limited company based in the United Kingdom (UK), trading since 2012. We import, distribute and sell Himalayan salt products and related goods, including Himalayan salt lamps and salt-based products.

We import stock mainly from Pakistan and China. Goods are received at our Luton premises, where they are checked, recorded, stored, prepared for onward movement and dispatched. We currently send pallet shipments to UK Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) facilities and also dispatch parcels directly from our UK warehouse. Current sales to the European Union (EU), including Ireland, are supported through UK FBA inventory and UK-based stock arrangements. We are also planning to develop direct EU and Ireland shipment arrangements and direct wholesale distribution in the future.

We are looking for an experienced Import and Distribution Manager to manage import freight, inbound stock movement, FBA pallet shipments, warehouse parcel dispatch, courier coordination, pallet network arrangements, and future EU/Ireland distribution planning.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordinating and managing import, transport and distribution operations.
  • Managing inbound freight for goods imported from Pakistan, China and other supplier markets.
  • Coordinating Less than Container Load (LCL), Full Container Load (FCL), palletised freight and other inbound stock movements.
  • Liaising with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, customs clearance agents, couriers, and pallet networks.
  • Coordinating shipping, customs, delivery and stock-movement documentation.
  • Managing pallet shipment planning and stock movement to UK FBA facilities.
  • Coordinating parcel dispatches from the UK warehouse for customer, business and trade orders.
  • Monitoring freight costs, delivery performance, shipment delays, stock availability and FBA replenishment requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate import, freight, pallet dispatch, FBA shipment, parcel dispatch and distribution records.
  • Reporting to the Director on import activity, shipment delays, stock flow, dispatch performance and operational issues.
  • Coordinating warehouse support staff and temporary labour where required during large shipment arrivals, FBA pallet preparation and peak distribution periods, to support the timely movement of goods from import receipt through to dispatch and onward distribution.

Skills and experience required:

  • Strong import, transport, distribution and operational management skills.
  • Knowledge of freight coordination, palletised stock movement and dispatch planning.
  • Understanding of LCL, FCL, pallet shipments, courier collections and freight-forwarding processes.
  • Experience dealing with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, customs-clearance agents, couriers or pallet networks.
  • Experience with stock intake, dispatch scheduling, pallet movements, parcel dispatch and distribution operations.
  • Strong communication, planning, problem-solving and record-keeping skills.

Qualifications and experience:

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, transport management, operations management, business management, commerce, international trade or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Applicants should have at least 3 years’ relevant experience in import operations, transport, distribution, freight coordination, supply chain, international trade or stock-movement management.

Experience with Amazon FBA shipment planning, UK courier/pallet-network distribution, imported goods from Pakistan or China, and commercial shipping documents would be beneficial.

Right to work and sponsorship:

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom or be eligible for the relevant UK immigration route.

Himalayan Salt Suppliers Ltd holds a Skilled Worker sponsor licence. Applications are welcome from suitably qualified candidates based inside or outside the United Kingdom. The company is willing to sponsor a suitable candidate for this role, subject to the role and candidate meeting Skilled Worker requirements and, where required, approval of a Defined Certificate of Sponsorship (DCoS).
