Lecturer - Employability Services (Centre for Workplace Learning)

Full Time 36 hours per week, Permanent Contract.

The Centre for Workplace Learning (CWL) is seeking a Lecturer to contribute to the delivery and development of accredited employability, work placement and professional development modules across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Reporting to the Course Lead, the successful candidate will teach, support and assess students undertaking work-related and placement learning, helping them connect academic study with professional practice, employability and future career development. The role includes teaching, curriculum and assessment development, student support, collaborative working across Employability Services and engagement with placement-related and employer-facing activity.

The postholder will contribute to inclusive, applied and student-centred learning experiences and will work closely with colleagues across CWL, Careers and Placements teams, academic programmes and external partners.

Candidate Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable and student-focused educator with relevant professional and/or teaching experience and an interest in employability, workplace learning and student development.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organisational and collaborative working skills, alongside the ability to deliver inclusive and engaging learning experiences for students from a range of disciplines and backgrounds.

We welcome applicants from higher education, further education, schools, professional learning, careers, training or workplace settings who can bring relevant experience of teaching, student support, employability, placements, professional development or applied learning.

An ability and willingness to teach across different disciplinary contexts, including areas such as sport, business and education, will be important. Experience of curriculum development, reflective practice, partnership working or employer engagement would also be advantageous.
