Job Description

You will be crucial to the success of our team who provides support to adults with a learning disability within our day service in Lewes. Your work will have a real and positive impact on the lives of the people who attend the service and in return we can offer you a rewarding and fulfilling career. 

 

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality support across the service. You will be responsible for monitoring standards and role‑modelling best practice, coordinating and planning staff rotas, and contributing to effective support planning for individuals attending the service. The role also involves managing risk, undertaking key‑worker responsibilities, and supporting the team to deliver safe, person‑centred care.

 

Our team of Support Workers provide a service to clients from 8.30am to 7pm, four days a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays on a rota basis and you will have lead tasks for their induction, training, supervision and development to ensure they are meeting the care and support needs of the people attending the service.

 

This role is for 30 hours per week and so the salary will be paid on a pro rata basis. The actual salary therefore is £23,286 to £23,835 per annum which equates to £14.92 to £15.27 per hour.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Informal care experience

  • Organisational skills and time management of self and others

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • An ability to plan, review and develop packages of support

  • Level 2 Maths and English or ability to pass an assessment as part of the selection process

Interviews will take place in person on 08 June 2026, at St Nicholas, Spital Road, Lewes, BN71PA. Interviews will include client involvement, a workplace assessment and meeting with managers of the service.
