Job Description

There is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic physiotherapy team as a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist. The team consists of 13 staff working across Forth Valley in clinics, schools, community and inpatient settings.

This is a community Band 6 post with a mixed caseload, offering opportunities for leadership and service development. The postholder will independently assess, diagnose and manage a varied and complex paediatric caseload across community and inpatient settings, using highly developed analytical and clinical reasoning skills. They will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating physiotherapy interventions, liaising closely with families, carers and the wider multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes for children and young people.

The role includes supporting work within the children’s ward and contributing to the training, supervision and development of junior staff, working closely with the Band 7.

The successful candidate will have experience of working across the wider multidisciplinary team in all aspects of community paediatric physiotherapy. There are excellent opportunities for training and professional development within the service.

Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work well as part of a team, and be confident working independently. All posts require applicants to be registered with the HCPC. The ability and willingness to travel across the area of service delivery is essential.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. More information on this scheme can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
