Job Description
Full time or part time, part time minimum of 28 hours per week.
Overall purpose:
To provide professional and proactive recruitment focused administrative support to the Human Resources (HR) Department at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB). Specifically providing an effective recruitment service as well as general support to the HR Advisors and wider team.
Main duties/ Key responsibilities:
Recruitment:
• Provide administrative support for the end-to-end recruitment process, including initial discussions regarding campaigns with the HR Advisors, the co-ordination of recruitment documentation, the creation of advertising and campaign monitoring, shortlisting and interview co-ordination and contract generation, suggesting improvements where necessary.
• Provide a supporting role to the HR Advisors (who oversee and are responsible for the recruitment service) to ensure the service provided is as efficient and effective as possible.
• Support the HR Advisors where possible in the management of immigration cases. You will need to learn the process and provide any support which may be required.
• Provide support to the HR Advisors in the proactive monitoring of the recruitment service undertaking research as and when required e.g. investigating media sources and carrying out fact finding and recruitment data analysis.
• Manage the HR recruitment inbox, ensuring emails are prioritised and actioned appropriately.
• Provide recruitment reports to HR Advisors as requested.
General administrative tasks:
• Act as a first point of contact for visitors to the HR department, directing queries as appropriate to the HR Advisors and wider team and effectively trouble shooting where possible.
• Jointly oversee the efficiencies of the HR admin function including escalating matters to the HR Advisors as appropriate.
• Provide cover and support to the HR Admin Assistant during busy periods and absences.

Working relationships:
You will be line managed by one of the HR Advisors, with all HR Advisors providing support and guidance.
Daily communication will be required with HR Advisors and the wider team.
Regular communication will be required with members of the LMB, particularly recruiting line managers and administrators, and with the external UK Shared Business Service (UKSBS) that runs the central HR and recruitment system.

Essential: Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience.
Desirable: Level 2 Business & Administration qualification or equivalent.
Previous work experience required:
Essential:
• Experience of working in an office environment and providing general administration.
• Experience of working as part of a team.
Desirable: Experience of working in an HR environment and providing HR administration.
